Job Context
The Driver will be tasked with facilitating and coordinating smooth transportation/movement of all staff and goods in operation facilities within ICS SP project sites. This includes ensuring proper maintenance of the assigned vehicle, adhering to ICS SP policies and procedures and traffic laws. This position will demand a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual who will be able to solve challenges as they arise. S/he will be required to be an active team player who will improve current systems from knowledge and experience gained through at least 3 – 5 years experience in this area (Busia).

Job Responsibility
1. Provide transport service to ICS SP staffs as per project requirements.
2. Ensure that ICS SP vehicle policy is strictly adhered to in vehicle management.
3. Assess ICS SP vehicles and repair them on regular basis.
4. Always ensure the cleanliness vehicle.
5. Keep assigned vehicle clean and ensure that it is properly handled, always kept in good condition and usable.
6. Implement daily, weekly, and monthly vehicle maintenance checks and work alongside logistic officer to have all vehicles maintained in a safe working condition.
7. Keep note and timely report, in writing, to the logistic officer on the vehicle routine maintenance/service.
8. Ensure that the vehicle has enough fuel before embarking in transport service or heading for a field trip.
9. Monitor that the fuel consumption is remained within the litre/km rate estimate for the vehicle and report any irregularities.
10. Keep correct/proper and neatly recorded vehicle log sheets and submit to the supervisor on monthly basis for review, checking and feedback.
11. Ensure that vehicle is used for the intended/assigned purpose in accordance with the prior authorisation given by the supervisor.
12. Ensure that the vehicle safety belt is functional and always used by self and the passengers onboard.
13. Follow all ICS SP driving safety regulations while driving and observe all traffic rules.
14. Report in writing on any maintenance need (minor/major) to the supervisor timely and accurately.
15. Report any accident immediately to the supervisor as appropriate.
16. Ensure that the car is always equipped with First Aid kit.
17. Follow-up vehicle related issues with the police and insurance companies as per instructions
18. Assist in Local Purchases
19. Deliver messages/post to other offices as per instructions.
20. Assume other relevant responsibilities as instructed by supervisor.

Educational Requirement
• Valid drivers License
• Secondary school education completion.

Experience Requirement
• Good human relation skills.
• Selected candidate will require to have a certificate of good conduct.
• Ability to drive a manual vehicle.
• Previous mechanic and Driving Experience 4 years – preferably with NGO. No road safety related fines or convictions
• Strong knowledge of locations of interest in Busia
• Ability to communicate (read and write) in English and Kiswahili Language.
• Good human relation skills.
• Selected candidate will require to have a certificate of good conduct.
